About two years ago, I conceived a weekly column called The Meatist, which was picked up by New Times, the South Florida alt-weekly. I wrote about meat; Cooking it, eating it, gazing upon its glory.
The column appeared on the NT website and in print; it was well received and I enjoyed the hell out of writing it. But after a trip in the Spring of 2010 to South by Southwest (the annual technology, music and film festival in Austin, TX), during which I chronicled the meat-eating adventures of musicians as they toured the world, I decided to give The Meatist a home of its own.
I still cover quite a bit of meaty topics, from bacon explosions to Australian meat pie, from how to cook a steak to the best hot dogs you can buy. All of my meat-based stories appear in these pages, along with my other work.
